Transport – private and public

The barn is easily accessed by car from the M4 or A40 – or the A485 if you are coming from the north – and is a 20 minute drive from Carmarthen, our nearest town. Have a look at the Google map below.

Satnav is definitely misleading if you try to use the postcode of the property. Please don’t! Instead please click on this link https://bityl.co/DwIl  or on the Directions link on the map below for pin point navigation.

Or if you prefer, get in touch directly for directions. We can send you the GPS link by email or in a message. Here is a map reference SN 47712 28484 if that is your style. This is the link to the online OS map. Click, zoom and there we are!

Public transport is not brilliant but certainly possible. T1 service buses from Carmarthen station to Aberystwyth bus regularly pass a bus stop which is about 3 miles distant from the barn. If you are considering coming by public transport, get in touch and we will see if we can pick you up from somewhere near.

Bikes are a good option if you’ve strong legs and lungs or an electric motor.

There is a good train service from London/Swansea to Carmarthen as well as links from Manchester/Shrewsbury to Carmarthen. Coaches between London and Carmarthen also provide a slow but more affordable mode of transport.

The Heart of Wales line links Shrewsbury to Swansea – with Llandeilo being the nearest station on that line to the barn (about 30 minutes away by car).
